Red Macabre Hot Sauce

Ingredients

For The Caramelized Onions

  • 2 Cups Onions julienned
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil extra virgin
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar

For The Sauce

  • 1 Cup Red Pepper Roasted
  • 3 Tablespoons Garlic Fresh
  • 2 Tablespoons Purple Carrot
  • 1/2 Cup Yellow Carrot
  • 1/4 Cup Tomato Paste
  • 1/3 Cup Onion Diced
  • 5 Whole Habanero Peppers 1/3 Cup
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 Cup White Vinegar Distilled
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 2 1/2 Teaspoons Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

Instructions

For The Caramelized Onions

  • Over medium low heat, add the olive oil, onions, and sugar.   Stir every few minutes, making sure not to sear the edges of the onions, until they are translucent and a nice golden brown color.  This takes about 30 minutes.

For The Hot Sauce

  • To a blender, add all of the ingredients.  When the onions are done, add in the caramelized onions, and blend.  Transfer to a bottle or container, and keep in the refrigerator until ready to use. 

Notes

This hot sauce is not intended to be shelf stable.  This is meant to be put in the refrigerator, and used immediately.  If you let this sit out for prolonged amounts of time, bacteria could proliferate and cause you to become very ill.
