This week, I finally received the long awaited Craft Beer Cookbook from The Beeroness. I was lucky enough to be a part of the recipe testing process. That was SO FUN! I helped with the Sausage and Pale Ale Frittata, and the IPA Crab Cakes with Spicy Beer Hollandaise. Both were exquisite recipes – I had a hard time keeping the recipes a secret from my beer-loving friends! They did reap the benefits of the testing – I passed out frittata to my neighbors, and had friends over for crab cakes.
Since receiving the book, I’ve made the Apple Cheddar Beer Pancakes that you see here today, the Wheat Beer Sesame Hamburger Buns, Mushroom Stout Sliders with Chipotle Cream, and a side that can stand on it’s own with no main at all, the Beer-Braised Green Beans with Bacon and Shallots. Every single recipe has been heavenly so far – I can’t wait to try them all. Already this book has out-done the other cookbooks I own, where I make a recipe that is good in it’s own right, but the passion and spark fade quickly. Not with this book. The recipes are easy enough that you’re not spending hours in the kitchen, but complex enough to hold your interest.

In other news, the house is in the process of a Halloween makeover. I told a good friend recently, that I will squeeze every ounce Halloween out of Fall that I can. It’s my favorite time of the year!
