There aren’t many bands I can say this about, but Faith No More is one of my favorite bands to this day, and they have been in my regular rotation for YEARS! This guy is the reason for my shaved sides back when EPIC came out on MTV in 1989. I wanted to be just like him, and my mom let me pull the trigger on the shaved sides once I proved I could keep my grades up.
The only bands that come close to Faith No More are Suicidal Tendencies, Static-X, and White Zombie. If I actually paid attention to how many times I’ve played all of their albums, the number would be in the thousands, and the only other band that may have come close is Static-X. These are the guys that I will listen to while I’m at work, over and over, while I’m coding my heart out. I can sing right along with Mike – his voice fits right into my lower register. His voice is like Kerrygold buttah – ultra smooth, and I absolutely love his dry, brash, offensive, and unapologetic lyrics. I was stoked that they played at the Palladium in Los Angeles back in 2010. I lost my shit. Just like I did last week when they officially released their first piece of music put out by the band in the past SEVENTEEN years! The last album they wrote was “Album of the Year” back in 1997. It’s been perma-grin ever since. Please, have a listen!
Super giddy!
