Awhile back, I posted a blog about burgers. I was really excited about it, because that whole day I had been craving a burger of epic proportions. I needed beef. I needed blue cheese. I needed my beloved Franks Red Hot. I was starved, and dying by the time it was ready, but I did take the time to snap a shot of it. I made a post for The Devil Wears Parsley, and being the geeky food-obsessed person that I am, I submitted it to www.tastespotting.com, and got all excited because they approved it! I’m new at this, see? It’s ok to be a little over-zealous and enthusiastic, right?
So, one day I get a comment on said post that I should submit it to Recipe 4 Living‘s Juiciest Burger Contest. I’m pretty sure they caught wind of my submission from Tastespotting which I thought was pretty cool, so ended up submitting my recipe for the contest.
The days go by, long and slowly. I was waiting patiently for the contest to end so that they would announce the contest winner. Before I had a chance to sip my morning coffee, I see an email from them announcing me as the winner! I couldn’t believe it, this was amazing! I won not only a Nordic Ware Burger Bites Grill Pan, but also a front page feature on their website for a week! I was and am truly humbled.
The above picture reminds me that I need a manicure in the worst way. Where’s the bestie when I need her!?
What makes this even more special, is that I found this out the week prior to my birthday. The recipe, as it turns out, was featured on their site the week of my birthday, and I got the grill pan on the actual day of my birthday. SCORE!
I couldn’t wait to try out this grill pan, so I decided to put my recipe to work. They turned out awesome! Thank you Recipe 4 Living for the wonderful experience!
The finished “Mini” Buffalo Style Burgers with squaw rolls instead of the onion rolls:
All I can say is the Burger Bites Grill Pan is awesome. It is a great way to get 7 mini burgers cooked at once, and the caramelization you get is near porn-worthy. It’s definitely “Om nom nom” status!
What is your favorite burger recipe?
