What is up, beautiful! It’s been too long, hasn’t it? Things got a little crazy over here, and I just needed a “soul re-charge,” ya know what I mean? That unfortunately meant taking a break from this here blog. I’m not quite ready to post a recipe yet – and I stress YET! But I figured I’d flood you with some absolutely adorable kitty pics.
Here’s why:
I had my birthday last month – to the day, in fact. A few days after that, our garage kitty, Mama Berenis, went missing.
She was the sweetest kitty ever – skittish when you were outside, but when she was in the garage, it was a major love/drool fest of the best kind! She loved the kitty rubs, and her cat hotel. She would come in every night like clockwork… then a couple days after my birthday, she didn’t come. She didn’t come the second night either… then the third night. We were worried sick – we even climbed the hill/mountain behind our house in the 100+ degree heat looking for her. We went all through the neighborhood calling for her. We put up flyers, and constantly checked the shelter. We talked to all of our neighbors – to no avail.
We are still very sad about it, and we still call for her, hoping that by some will of the gods that she will return to us.
That hasn’t happened yet, but I figured I’d take some time out to take some portraits of our other cute kitties. I’ve got to make sure to celebrate all of them! Julian was hit the worst – he was Mama Berenis’ outside partner in crime. He was, and still is, visibly upset that she’s not around. Though by the following photos it wouldn’t seem like it….
This is his position most of the time… What a ham!
Then, we’ve got our porcelain doll – Gera a.k.a “Goose” because she’s a silly goose!!
We did a run at the local pet store, and got our kids this pumpkin bed from Martha Stewart’s collection. I was skeptical that they wouldn’t like it, but it’s an instant hit! I’m surprised that the kids haven’t fought over it. It looks so fluffy and cosy. This is Sookie – the Martha Stewart bed model for today:
“Why are you being so nosy, ma?”
Then, there’s this guy, Roland.
He meows….
…and meows….
I swear this guy never shuts up. This is why we get the good beer poses all the time. He’s so predictable!
Welp, that’s all for now, but there will be more stuff coming more frequently in the future! I never finished up my USA Road Trip series, and I left out the BEST destinations – Yellowstone and Yosemite! So keep your eyes peeled for that.
I’ve also been taking on a few freelance jobs on the side, and just happened to finish transferring a site from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress! It was an awesome journey, and Sue’s website, It’s Okay To Eat The Cupcake looks SO much better, and is ready to take on the world! Give her site a visit, and subscribe! She comes up with some pretty inventive and yummy stuff.
In other news, I have an exciting announcement that I can’t let you in on juuuuuust yet, but it’s going to be pretty cool!
Until next time, beauties!
