Isn’t it funny how some things just slip away from you as if rope becomes slippery seaweed? Oh, life is such a joker. The things that are so important never get done because you can’t seem to find the time to do “the thing” justice. This is a case of over-booking myself, and simply not creating enough space to do the things you need to be doing. Or healing.
Well, life happens. Case in point: I was brewing a delightful Prickly Pear beer with friends one April afternoon, when I got a call that my 90 year old Grandmother had broken her hip. What a blow to the family. I was on a plane to Pittsburgh within what felt like 48 hours. Life has been a blur ever since. Details surrounding Grandma are still being worked out to this day (She’s fine), I’ve managed to acquire a pinched nerve in my neck AND have tendonitis in my rotator cuff, and to top it all off, found out that I have arthritis in my hip. Right now, I’m feeling a little better regarding all those things, but am nursing the most wicked sore throat I’ve had since having my tonsils cauterized out of my throat. I’m not complaining, I’m just illustrating that life just happens, and very intensely at times! These are the reasons that I’ve been a little distracted and sparse lately. However you wanna shake it though, I’ve been tending to myself, and trying to put my energy into more healing and less toxicity.
But with all this hoopla going on, I’ve completely forgotten to announce some very awesome news! Some news that most of you probably already know, but has yet to be officially announced. The Devil Wears Parsley is a full-fledged, honest-to-goodness BRAND now, thanks to We Are Branch.
Will you check out these brand elements, man! I am over the MOON, I tell ya. I feel like Shauna is my soul-sister. Who dreams this stuff up (besides me)? Shauna does, that’s who. Bask in the glory, I implore you:
Once I saw her utilizing the logo in real-world scenarios, I started getting REALLY excited!
Primary Logo
Primary Lockup
Possible Future Cookbook!
Alternate Wordmark
The crescent moon in this wordmark gets me so giddy!
This is what I have to say about Shauna:
I knew I wanted to work with Shauna the moment I realized she was a graphic designer. After attending her personally designed course, The Blogcademy, I knew it had to happen.
When I was finally ready to level-up, and re-brand The Devil Wears Parsley, I knew who to call on. I already knew Shauna was brilliant, talented, and intuitive, so I went into the venture with extremely high expectations. I was curious how she would interpret my identity, aspirations, and goals, but never once was I worried that she wouldn’t deliver. Those expectations were met 100-fold.
Through the explicit, refined process of We Are Branch, I felt she had held up a mirror to my soul, and delivered exactly who I was in the brand elements. She dove into who I was, and what I wanted to accomplish in order to breathe life into my brand. She listened to my needs, paying attention to my dark, quirky nuances, while simultaneously staying true to herself, and her principles.
In this industry, I truly believe that you get what you pay for. Shauna shattered all of my expectations, and even 4 months after the deliverables hit my hands, I’m still in love, and in complete awe of what she created. She not only solidified my brand, but was the spring board to me finally taking the plunge, and giving me the confidence to start my own official business. I have dreamt much greater than I ever had before because of this endeavour. I could not be any happier nor more grateful. With a bursting heart, Thank You Shauna!
Business Cards, Icons, and Monograms, Oh My!
I feared that after awhile, I might grow tired of these elements, but what happened is quite the opposite. I fall in love with everything more and more each day, and can’t wait to keep creating things of my own with all of them!
If you have a hankering for a re-design of your own company, don’t hesitate to hire her. Besides all of these elements, I’ve got a color scheme, textures, backgrounds, and a set of fonts that work together seamlessly. I don’t have to think what color scheme I need to use for this or that anymore. If I need a little texture for something, I’ve got it. All the files are ready to be sent to your t-shirt printer or stamp maker. I simply can’t say enough good things about this entire experience.
One of the reasons that this post took so long to write is that I hit the ground running, and got the design to my glassware maker immediately to start production. Then, once I launched the glassware, I had to get t-shirts made too! Now that the dust is settling down a bit, was the perfect time to write this. I hope it helps push you over the edge to have a professional re-brand you. It’s so worth it. I’m going to be super-jazzed for a looooong time!
AND since it was my 40th Birthday a few days ago, I’m going to have a special 15% off sale on everything in the store until September 13th! Use code: HBDIM40 and get these empowering, enlightening, encouraging, and rock-tastic designs in your everyday life too, so you can rock anywhere and everywhere!
Cheers!
